O'Connor's is the premiere brew shop in Grand Rapids, supplying the finest in home brew supplies and ingredients to the exploding GR brewing community. We're experiencing a brew renaissance, with GR being named Beer City USA, and we want to be your first stop as you craft the next big brew.

The O'Connor's Story

Ben loves beer. Allison was in need of a career change. The stars aligned and BEHOLD! O'Connor's Home Brew Supply was born. Mixing midwest practicality with southern hospitality, Ben and Allison are the people to help new brewers get started, and provide the equipment, ingredients and know-how necessary for even experienced brewers to improve every batch.

O'Connor's is committed to being a business that makes Grand Rapids, one of the best beer towns in the country, and even better place to enjoy the passion and lifestyle of the beer lover.

The Shop

O'Connor's Home Brew Supply is located just east of Martha's Vineyard in the Midtown neighborhood.

Open Tuesday through Friday 11am-8pm

Saturday and Sunday 11am-6pm

Favorite beer to brew:  Saison

Biggest piece of advice: Take time to sanitize everything that touches your beer….then repeat

Favorite piece of brewing equipment: Blichmann BrewEasy

Favorite places to drink in GRap: Logan’s Alley, Creston, The Mitten

Home Brew Expert (beer and cider)

Experience:  5

Favorite type of beer to drink: Stouts, but it’s cyclical

Favorite beer to brew: Harvest Ale with fresh wet hops

Biggest piece of advice: If it tastes bad drink it anyway.  You won’t mess up a second time.

Favorite piece of brewing equipment: Kegs…bottling takes too long

Favorite places to drink in GRap: Brewery Vivant….also anywhere that is cheap

Favorite type of beer to drink: Anything Belgian

Favorite beer to brew: Saisons 

Biggest piece of advice: Sanitize anything that touches your beer.  Infections are really difficult to get rid of.

Favorite piece of brewing equipment: stir plate and refractometer

Favorite places to drink in GRap: Brewery Vivant, Pyramid Scheme, The Winchester
